This is a video clip from the 3-hour-plus video that the author did of his parents oral history in 1987. You will notice a distinct difference between the quality of this video and the other videos on this page because of the better technology of today’s video recorders.
This is a wonderful example of a brief oral history of a 90-year-old mother (Stella Gilliam) filmed by her daughter (Sandra) using the system found in “How to Record Your Family History.”
In the video above, author Ron Ross turns on his video camera in the home of his mother while his brother and her discuss engagement stories. The clip was then made into a short video with appropriate captions that establish who is speaking. The captions are there for historical purposes.
